Meet your Dentist
I was born in South Korea and grew up in New Zealand from the age of 7. Queensland has been home to my family and I since 2011 when I started working as a dentist in Hervey Bay. Having gained valuable experience on the northside of Brisbane for more than 11 years, I am excited to open my practice to provide services in my local community on the southside.
Building rapport and trust with my patients is a merit of this profession I find enjoyable and rewarding. I have experienced the importance of continuity in dental care as patients become familiar with my approach to dentistry and allowing a deeper understanding of patients’ preferences and needs, enabling me to tailor services effectively.

I'm so so happy I've found LightUp Dental, after recently moving and worrying about finding new health care providers etc.. I drove past LightUp Dental and saw their 5☆ reviews on Google and am here to confirm that they absolutely deserve the 5 stars!
First of all the staff (admin as well as clinical staff) are so lovely and very gentle which helps to make you feel at ease - not an easy feat at a dentist if you ask me. Everything was clearly communicated and explained to me and they worked very professionally.
In addition, the clinic itself is so neat and tidy and styled so nicely which is a lovely bonus!
Like I said, really happy to have chosen this dentist and for the first time in my life actually looking forward to my Dental care 🥹

Brought my two boys in for their dental checkups and had a fantastic experience. Dr John and the staff were friendly, professional, and truly cares about patient comfort. The office is clean, modern, and well-organized. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality dental care!

I've got nothing but good things to say about Dr John!
I went through a 2+ year orthodontic treatment which involved wisdom teeth removal, braces and Invisalign. Everything was clearly explained every step of the way and whenever I had a question, Dr John was there with an answer - nothing was ever a problem.
